Very classy. Very feminine. And “complementary of our lady parts.” That’s how Phaedra Parks describes her signature style.
We caught up with the reality star in New York promoting her collaboration with Silk Milk. She was fresh off a viral Lagos trip with her girl and Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) co-star, Porsha Williams.
Phaedra Parks chats with HelloBeautiful about style, wellness, and reality TV
Still glowing from what she called a “wonderful time in a rich and welcoming country,” Phaedra shared her thoughts on style, beauty, and why Black women dominating reality TV matters.
When it comes to her style must-haves, Phaedra is all about the foundation. Literally.
“A proper bra and undergarments can do a world of difference,” she said. Growing up in the church, she learned early on the importance of being snatched and polished. “You know, we need to keep it tight. Keep it right and tight,” she joked.
Phaedra is a fashion girl’s fashion girl – she loves to throw a fit
Phaedra’s look for the influencer event proved her point. She was flawless in a cream and tan monochromatic fit. Her satin suit, from Alberta Ferretti’s runway collection, shimmered with golden tones that played up her glowing melanin and blonde bombshell hair. She added a Vivienne Westwood necklace, a Brandon Blackwood leopard purse, and metallic gold stilettos to finish the look.
She’s a high-fashion girl who is known to throw a fit (pun intended). Phaedra loves designers like Sergio Hudson and LaQuan Smith. She even joked that Sergio promised her a custom piece.
Even while in Lagos, she wore designer threads. The Reiki coach shared that Matopeda styled looks for her and Phaedra to slay in the Motherland.
But let’s be real—Phaedra always shows up. Whether she’s stirring the pot on RHOA, shocking co-stars on The Traitors, not following “doctors orders” on Married to Medicine, or giving the girls a twirl on Dancing With The Stars, she knows how to turn heads and keep people talking.
Phaedra’s glow isn’t just about what’s on the outside, though. She believes real beauty starts from within.
“What I put in my body is just as important as what I put on my body,” she said, breaking down her beauty routine. “I do not use or abuse drugs,” she added. Phaedra focuses on clean eating, drinking plenty of water, and choosing healthy alternatives.
That’s why her partnership with Silk Milk made so much sense. At the event, “Are You A Cereal Liar,” which included a lie detector test to promote the taste of the milk alternative, Phaedra talked about how she’s swapped dairy for Silk in her diet. She’s also passing those healthy habits to her growing boys.
Phaedra Parks on being a Black women in reality TV: ‘You can’t be what you cannot see’
Phaedra’s impact on reality TV runs deep. Her influence goes beyond her flawless looks and resume of iconic shows. In fact, Variety recently named her one of the most powerful women in reality TV.
“I’ve worn so many hats, and I think it’s always important to reinvent yourself,” she said. “I believe you cannot be what you cannot see.”
Representation is a big deal for Phaedra. From watching DWS with her mom to competing on the show herself, she understands how important it is to see Black women on screen.
And when it comes to overcoming adversity and self-doubt? Phaedra’s advice is simple: “You don’t know until you really try to part the seas.”
Whether she’s showing out in Lagos, kicking in New York City, or on your TV screen, Phaedra Parks is not just a reality star. She’s very classy and very feminine.
She will always be a cultural icon.
