Michelle Obama Won't Be Attending Trump's Second Inauguration

Michelle Obama was noticeably absent from the late President Jimmy Carter’s funeral, and she won’t be attending Trump’s second inauguration either. While Michelle O’s husband former President Barack Obama will be in attendance, our forever FLOTUS is skipping the ceremony.

“Former President Barack Obama is confirmed to attend the 60th Inaugural Ceremonies. Former first lady Michelle Obama will not attend the upcoming inauguration,” said a statement from the Office of Barack and Michelle Obama per The Associated Press.

There is no explanation why the beloved political figure won’t attend but pundits speculate it is to avoid the possibility of being seated next to Trump.

Michelle has been transparent about her disdain for Trump. She was a pillar in the VP’s campaign against Trump. During the 2024 DNC, a standout Michelle moment came when she directly clapped back at Trump’s “Black jobs” comments. “Who’s going to tell him that the job he’s currently seeking might just be one of those ‘Black jobs’?”

Michelle Obama attended incoming President Trumps first inauguration, but her body language suggested she didn’t want to be there. With Obama leaving office after eight years, the FLOTUS and POTUS handed over the country to Trump in gracious fashion. In the words of Michelle O, “When they go low, we go high.”

Michelle Obama Was Not At Jimmy Carter’s Funeral

VP Kamala Harris attended Jimmy Carter’s funeral and a clip of her relinquishing a Black woman-coded sigh as she watched Obama and Trump giggle a row behind her over, went viral. The clip also sparked dialogue about Trump and Obama’s relationship and what the political enemies could have been talking about.

Michelle O clearly wanted no parts then and on Monday, January 20, 2025 when Trump is sworn back into office for a second term. We feel you, sis.
